Events Manager Hull City Council and Chair of LAEOG

My love of all things events first started when I was participating in events, I have always wanted to understand how things are done, who does what and why?? Couple that with OMG we have only gone and done it I had found the job of my dreams!!

I have now worked in the event sector for over 20 years and I never tire of the last minute brief, the chance to be creative, working with the most amazing teams and doing things that people say cannot be done. Yes it is stressful and quite anti-social at times but that moment when it’s all working to plan is still the best feeling in the world there are not many jobs where you get the chance to make people smile.

As an events team for the city of Hull we manage events such as Hull Fair which is one of the largest travelling fun fair in Europe, Playdays, Christmas lights, Armistice day, manage the events safety advisory group alongside offering help and advice to lots of events across the city and beyond.

Being part of LAEOG is very important to me, I think the support and information we can share with each other is invaluable and makes the events that we all deliver better year on year and the support we can offer each other is often that hug that gets you through to the end of the event.
